Start your engines. The Formula 1 season 2020 is about to begin. And we’re excited! Australia is the stage for the grand opening of the season. Who will be fighting for the win and who will be fighting for their seats? Our Formula 1 watchers are making some predictions of what to expect this year, what do you think?!
Anticipating a rise to power
We are hoping (like last seasons) Mercedes will see some stiff competition. Thus far Hamilton has managed to brush off the challenges from Max Verstappen. But this season we might see a turn of the tables. The Red Bull driver has shown progression every season and is more eager and confident than ever. Even when unsuccessful, the battles between Hamilton, Verstappen and possibly Leclerc are gonna be great to watch.
looking for surprises
There are two new tracks, Mercedes has a new steering wheel gimmick; what more surprises can we expect from the Formula 1 season 2020? We could see Charles Leclerc taking flight if the Ferrari performs decently. We also expect to see some drivers making a lot of progress, Lance Stroll, Alex Albon and Kevin Magnussen for instance. And especially George Russel, if his car is anything competitive. Racing Point might shock us all with a few podiums, but is that still a surprise after such a strong pre-season?
What about the midfield battle
McLaren has really shown effort to improve and it might pay off and with Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris, they have a good shot at emerging as the top contenders in midfield. McLaren would have to deal with the competition of the promising Racing Point and of course Renault. We think it is likely that they will continue where they finished last year, being ‘the best of the rest’. It might also depend on who will switch to 2021 preparations the earliest and who will focus on having the honour of finishing strong this season.
Who will make a lot of Formula 1 season 2020 headlines?
There is only one brand that always speaks to the imagination of people: Ferrari. There will always be news about this team, whether it’s good or bad. Then there are the colourful drivers that the public love and/or hate: Ricciardo, Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. Out of these, Verstappen is the most likely to give the journalists something to write about.
Bold Predictions?
Do we dare to make bold predictions? Let’s give it a try;) Don’t make bets of these wild guesses of ours! Alex Albon will win one Grand Prix and Esteban Ocon will make it to the podium. We are gonna get five different winners this season and Verstappen will get his first title. What do you think, did we miss anything important?
