The charity Dota 2 tournament WeSave! Charity Play has hit a milestone in donations. The initial prize pool of $120,000 has been raised with $30,000 in just a matter of three days for WePlay! The total stands at $150,000 thus far and is growing still.
What this means is that the fans are treated an additional series between the winners of the CIS- and European regions. The finals for the CIS is set for tonight, as our match of the day, between Natus Vincere and Hellraisers. Meanwhile Team Liquid are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the match between Team Secret and Team Nigma. When the next milestone of $160,000 is reached, we can additionally see a 3v3 matchup with some of the best players in NA (while writing this article, we have gotten the news that ENESTECH has donated $10,00 to ensure the goal of $160,000 to be reached).
Although the identities of the NA players have not yet been confirmed, we are likely to see names as Arteezy and SumaiL. Considering they both have already participated in the event. WeSave! Charity Play is an initiative by WeSave! Esports to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The entirety of the prize pool as well as the contributions and donations from outside will be handed to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and GlobalGiving. These organizations help to contain the outbreak of the virus as much as possible.
But first Natus Vincere vs Hellraisers!
The next goal stands at $180,000 when an intra-region final series will be organized with best of five games and a grand finale between EU and CIS. Let’s make that happen! You can contribute yourself by donating through this link. But let us first enjoy tonight’s match between Natus Vincere and Hellraisers at the WeSave! Dota 2 Charity event. It looks like it’s going to be a quite even match; guaranteed for some intense moments! You can follow the match on Twitch Esports.
