With the Champions League Group Stage coming to an end, some groups are well played while others are still widely open when it comes to progressing to the knockout stage. This makes for some interesting betting opportunities for the final round of the Champions League Group Stage. We go over the groups one by one and separate the wheat from the chaff in terms of value. Ready? Let’s go!

Group A: Decided

Not much to gain here. PSG and Madrid advance, as expected. In the final Round PSG faces off against Galatasaray and Madrid against Brugge. You want to avoid betting on these matches. But if you insist, over 2,5 for PSG would be a reasonable bet.

Group B: Decided

Again, not much to gain. Bayern Munchen and Tottenham are safe and are gonna play each other with a semi b-squad and end up in a gentlemen’s draw. Olympiakos has to win against Red Star to qualify for the Europa League so they will full gas from the first minute. Are they gonna make it? Unlikely, but if they start off really motivated it could be worth a small live bet.

Group C: Champions League Group Stage Battle for second

Prior to the tournament, people expected a lot from Atalanta. At the start of the sixth round, they are on the fourth place with four points. But even now they still have a chance to make it to the next round. Since Dinamo Zagreb is playing Manchester City, we expect Shakhtar Donetsk to advance by beating Atalanta. There are just too many holes in the defence of the team from Bergamo, attractive as their football may seem.

Group D: Leverkusen with a Houdini act?

Juventus is sovereign, but Atletico Surprisingly is not. For Peter Bosz’s team to advance to the knockouts, they have to beat Juventus and Atletico has to draw or lose against Lokomotiv Moskou. It’s a long shot, but if you want to gamble with high odds, this could be one.

Group E: Liverpool is not 100% safe just yet

Liverpool is playing Red Bull Salzburg and Napoli is playing Genk. Though Liverpool is surprisingly not safe to advance, we would not advise you to wager against it. The same goes for Napoli versus Genk. If anything, you can bet on Napoli going over 2,5 in this game. Genk has nothing to win while Napoli will avoid letting the outcome of Liverpool and Red Bull Salzburg influence their shot on a Champions League Title.

Group F: Who will join Barcelona?

Now this is an interesting group. Slavia Praag has been eliminated and Barcelona advances as the number one. No doubt about that. So, does either Inter or Dortmund advances? They both play home, and Dortmund faces of against Praag while Inter plays Barcelona. While Praag seems to be the easier opponent, chances are Barcelona will not show up armed to the teeth. Normally Dortmund advances, but look at Barcelona’s squad going on the pitch in Milan and bet on Inter to advance if some key players are missing from Barca. Whatever the outcome, it will close.

Group G: Everyone can beat everyone

The latter groups are obviously the more interesting ones Champions League Group Stage betting wise. Odds are in favour of Benfica winning at home from Petersburg and Lyon from winning at home against Leipzig, but this group is anyone’s game. Benfica will try to reach Europa League Football, and Lyon has Memphis Depay back on the field. Leipzig will not want let qualification for the next round slip through their hands (feet) though and will have their defences up since a draw will be enough to advance.

Group H: Three teams fighting over top spot

Ajax, Chelsea and Valencia are having a stare down that is nothing inferior than the scene from the the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Ajax has the best chances to win this shootout and it looks like Chelsea will advance with them. Though Valencia will play with a death or glory mentality to prevent this from happening in Amsterdam. We do think that Ajax will hold their own though and that Chelsea won’t have too many problems with Lille.
